fitting polygons together

octagon loops, produced using the Tyler applet

enables polygons to be drawn (and removed) easily

what is the relationship between the inside and outside perimeter of these octagon loops?

some interesting patterns can be formed

for example, the semi-regular tesselations could be explored

The illuminations (NCTM) polygon fitter is also good. Using this you can group blocks of polygons.
